A blep is the sacred moment a creature forgets its tongue is out. no reason. no agenda. just a little pink sliver of joy left hanging in the open air. the ancients called it the resting tongue.

Long ago, before charts and before candles, the realm was grim and the people frowned. then one fateful morning a small dog napped in a sunbeam and left its tongue out by accident. a passing traveller saw it, felt his cold heart thaw, and whispered the first word of our order: "blep."

Word spread from village to village. a cat blepped on a windowsill. a horse blepped by the river. soon the whole kingdom understood: the tongue is not lazy, the tongue is at peace. to blep is to let go.

The doctrine is gentle. you do not earn a blep. you do not deserve a blep. a blep simply happens to you when your guard is down and your heart is soft. that is why bleppers never frown — we are always one yawn away from enlightenment.

There are three truths every blepper must hold:

1. A blep cannot be forced. the harder you try, the more it becomes a derp.

2. A blep is for everyone. dog, cat, frog, lizard, even you, traveller, if you relax enough.

3. A blep seen is a blep shared. set the tongue as your face and the realm grows softer for it.

So stick out thy tongue, blepper. not to win. not to flex. but because the world is heavy and a tiny tongue makes it light. blep on. :P
